Place of origin, date:

Lombardy (Milan?), Master of the Modena Book of Hours (illuminator); c. 1390-1400. Added decoration: Spain; 1475-1500

Material:

Vellum, ff. 159, 212x163 (89x67) mm, 13 lines, littera textualis, Binding: 18th-century brown leather; gilt; with coat of arms of Stadholder William V

Decoration:

2 full-page miniatures (...x... mm), 36 historiated initials (...x... mm), 2 illustrations in the margin
Added: decorated initials with border decoration (ff. 98r, 100v, 103v, 106r, 109v, etc.)

Provenance:

Belonged, according to an (probably fake) inscription which has been lost since, to Isabella of Castile. J.H. van Wassenaer-van Obdam; purchased in 1750 at his sale by Stadholder William IV; by descent to King William I, who cede it in 1816 to the KB
