Vellum, ff. 265 (XIII+175 / bound with 5 inscribed and 96 uninscribed paper leaves from the 17th century), 139x102 (81x62) mm, 18 lines, littera textualis, Binding: 20th-century brown leather; using parts of 17th-century binding; gilt

Decoration:

Decorated initials with border decoration in IJssel region style (ff. 1r, 39r, 65r, 88r, 107r, etc.); penwork initials with pen-flourishes in IJssel-region style (ff. 10r, 15v, 18v, 27v, 38r, etc.)
Added: 5 full-page miniatures (83x60 mm) with border decoration in a style related to Utrecht (`thistles')

Provenance:

Georges-Joseph Gérard (1734-1814) of Brussels; purchased in 1818 by the Dutch Government with the Géard collection and placed in the Algemeen Rijksarchief (now: Nationaal Archief) at The Hague; transferred to the KB in 1832 (Gérard no. A 7)

Annotation:

Utrecht calendar: feasts in red include the 11,000 Virgins (23 October). Full-page miniature missing before f. 39 (Long Hours of the Cross)
