1 historiated initial (75x100 mm); 16 historiated initials (drawings; 45/100x30/100 mm), some with pendrawn decoration in the margin; 3 penwork historiated initials (25x15/40 mm) with pen-flourishes; penwork initials with pen-flourishes in 2 styles (ff. 1r, 52r, 56r,103r, 123v, etc. and ff. 56r, 56v, 59r, 62v, 64r, 73v, etc.)

Provenance:

Tertiaries of St. Francis (Begaarden), Maastricht (17th cent.). Claimed in 1796 by the French occupying forces and rediscovered in 1839 in Maastricht; acquired in 1840 as part of the Collection Maastricht (no. 315)

Annotation:

Alleluja-verses follow use of Liège, except no. 21 `Domine timent'. F. 123v: `patris nostri Francisci'; f. 125r: `Victoria Lamberti'. Feasts of the Temporal and Sanctoral placed together between ff. 69r-98r. Drawings possibly underdrawings for not executed paintedhistoriated initials
