Decoration:

9 full-page miniatures (c. 75x45 mm) with border decoration; 8 miniatures (58/34x48/34 mm) with border decoration; 22 miniatures (54/35x48/30 mm); 12 miniatures (calendar; c. 20x30 mm); 7 historiated initials (c. 28x28 mm) with border decoration; 2 illustration in themargin; decorated initials with border decoration (ff. 45v, 55v, 57v, 58v, 61v, etc.); all border decoration in Southern Netherlandish style (`strewn border'); 1 decorated initial with border decoration in German style (f. #); penwork initials with pen-flourishes (ff. 41v, 45v, 51v,54v, 59v, etc.)

Provenance:

Consecrated in 1498 by Michael Hildebrand, archbishop of Riga. Presented in 1826 by Th. Grebner, pastor of Berngau, to J.F. Oesterreicher, bishop of Eichst„tt. Antiquarian bookseller L. Rosenthal, München (cat. no. 155 of c. 1915, no. 206, fig.). Ph.J. van Alfen, Doorn(book-plate; d. 1969); purchased in 1971 at his sale at Sotheby's, London (cat. 12 July 1971, no. 86, 2 figs.)
