Decoration:

1 miniature (100x68 mm); decorated initials with border decoration in South Holland style (`Leyden blue acanthus'; ff. 14r, 40r, 52r, 72r, 88r, etc.); penwork initials with pen-flourishes in Leyden style (ff. 1r, 2r, 3r, 4r, 5r, etc.); penwork initials with pen-flourishes in South Holland style (`aubergine'; ff. 104r, 104v, 105r, 105v, 128r, etc.) applied at prayers added later on several places

Purchased in 1828 by W.H.J. van Westreenen at the sale of J.A. Clignett at Scheurleer, The Hague (May 3, lot 17 in oct.)

Calendar: feasts in red include St. Jeroen (August 17). Full-page miniatures missing before f. 40 (Penitentential Psalms), f. 52 (Long Hours of the Cross), f. 72 (Hours of the Eternal Wisdom), f. 88 (Hours of the Holy Spirit), f. 106 (Office of thedead)
