5 miniatures (96/89x69/64 mm) with border decoration, 1 historiated initial (67x70 mm) with border decoration, 1 illustration in the margin; decorated initals with border decoration (ff. 47r, 69r, 115r, 140r, 155r, etc.); all border decroation in North Holland style(`bunches-of-twigs'); penwork initials with pen-flourishes in North Holland style (`fountains') on most pages

Provenance:

Family notes by Willem Janssen Pauwe (1609-1614) and one of his children (1659). Purchased in 1912 from antiquarian bookseller J. Tregaskis, London

Annotation:

Utrecht calendar: besides the usual Utrecht entries feasts in red include St. Jeroen, patron saint of Noordwijk, (August 17). Full-page miniature and decorated opening page missing before f. 91 (Hours of the Holy Spirit) and full-page miniature missing before f. 155(Office of the Dead). f. 177r: Suffrage to St. Bavo. Several quires misbound at end
