Decoration:

2 full-page miniatures (155x107 mm); 18 historiated initials (50/25x40/30 mm); 26 illustrations in the margin (23 coats of arms, House of Savoy); decorated initials with border decoration (ff. 7v, 8v, 9r, 9v, 11v, etc.)

Provenance:

member of the House of Savoy (coats of arms). Transferred in 1800-1801 from Portugal to England by Th. Wormald and presented to B.W. Scott (d. 1841). Purchased in 1898 from antiquarian bookseller B. Quaritch, London

Annotation:

Savoy calendar: feasts in red include St. Theodolus (August 16), St. Aquilinus (October 19), St. Theuderius (October 29), St. Astremonius (November 7). Border decoration related in style to Geneva, BPU, lat. 30b
